This is the personal site of Alastair Macgregor, a Scottish Web Designer, designer and illustrator.
I have been interested in illustration and design ever since I was a wee guy, so I built my career around the fact that I enjoyed making pretty pictures.
After school (Strathaven Academy) I went on to study Graphic Design at College to learn about design for print. I then went on to University to study Applied Graphics Technology with Multimedia. The web part of my course was very basic and only scratched the surface, but it was enough to show me that I wanted to be involved with the Internet.
Not long after my course had ended I started working for a small up coming web design company called Red Paint Multimedia as a full time designer. It was at Red Paint that I started working with XHTML, CSS and some basic scripting. After six months at the company, they could not afford my services any longer so I then moved on to pastures new. In the short time that I was unemployed I bought myself loads of books and started studying the finer points of web design. I started working for teleIT (an internet products and services company) as a full-time designer.
After learning so much about XHTML and CSS I decided to get shot of my old Flash website and totally rebuilt my site using current web standards.
After launching a new css based site I was able to get an exciting job working for WeeWorld - home of the WeeMee and WeeWorld as a full time designer
After a great two and half years at WeeWorld I decided to move on after learning a lot from the talented team at WeeWorld. I am now working as a senior designer at The Zen Agency.
